WENG FEN 翁奋
1979 born in Hainan Province, China
Weng Fen (also known as Weng Peijun) is an artist who works in mixed media. Serving as a teacher at the Art College of Hainan University, Weng lives and works in Hainan.
To some viewers, his photographs recall “The Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog” created by Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) since Weng’s young girls similarly turn their backs to us while being sit on a obstructing wall, which faces distant skyscrapers. A poetic invitation to take the time to look at the immensity of today’s landscapes and cityscapes in order to acknowledge their fragility and their transformations.
